Terms of Service

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Payment is required prior to each session via Venmo, Zelle, or Cash; Checks and PayPal are not accepted.  Please note that sessions WILL NOT occur if payment is not received prior to the session; if a student arrives for a session and payment has not been made, the session WILL NOT occur despite attendance. Student will be considered a “No Show” and payment will still be required before the next scheduled session as well as the payment for the next scheduled session.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Attendance at all scheduled sessions is crucial to success on either the ACT or SAT. Student is required to be on time for and attend all scheduled sessions.  If for any reason a session must be canceled, Student or Guardian must inform Teacher a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled session.  If a session is cancelled without appropriate notification or if Student does not show up to a scheduled session and does not provide proper notification, Student will be considered a “No Show” and payment for that session is still due and must be remitted before the next scheduled session or that scheduled session will not take place and additional payment for that session will be due as well. Arrival to a session more than 15 minutes late will result in a No-Show, payment will still be required, and the absence will be included as one of the three allowed (see below). Sessions missed with appropriate notification will be made up at the earliest mutually convenient date.

1.     Exceptions will be made in the cases of sudden illness, family or medical emergencies, and extreme weather.

2.     Teacher will be in attendance at all scheduled sessions.  Teacher will make every effort to provide ample notice should cancellations occur.  Cancellations, while uncommon, may occur due to sickness, family or medical emergencies, or extreme weather.  In the event of cancellation, Teacher will make every effort to provide dates for make-up sessions.

3.     Teacher reserves the right to change sessions to a virtual platform to accommodate scheduling conflicts, due to inclement or extreme weather, or due to sickness.

4.     Students are allowed two absences. In the event that a student misses two sessions, the family will be notified that a third absence will result in the student immediately being removed from the roster, all remaining sessions being canceled, and the slot opened up to another student.

5.     Arrival more than 15 minutes late to a scheduled session results in a “No Show.” No Show payment is still required and the absence will be recorded.

RESCHEDULING POLICY

As stated above: in the event Teacher must cancel and/or reschedule, Teacher will make every effort to provide dates for make-up sessions. If Student must reschedule, there is a $30 fee per session rescheduled. While Teacher will attempt to accommodate conflicts, it is typically not possible as it requires another student to "swap" session times.

PRACTICE POLICY

Assigned homework is necessary to practice strategies, work on endurance, and ensure preparation for the test; lack of practice work can result in removal from the roster and the permanent cessation of prep. Practice work (homework) will be assigned at the conclusion of each session and must be completed by the student before our scheduled session. Completion is defined as all assigned work finished in its entirety with effort; “carelessly/poorly completed practice” is defined as rushing through the work, just circling answers, not underlining and crossing out, and not reading. (Teachers are able to tell when work was rushed and when work was properly completed but has many mistakes—there are no penalties for mistakes; there are penalties for wasting time.)  The practice work is crucial to success on both the ACT and SAT, and I cannot ensure success without all work being completed, therefore no excuses to attempt to explain why work isn’t complete will be accepted. Should Student arrive one time without completed practice work or with carelessly/poorly completed practice, they will receive a “free pass” and be allowed to continue without penalty. If Student arrives a second time without any completed practice or with carelessly/poorly completed practice, Teacher will notify Parent/Guardian to let them know that Student has arrived twice with no work or poorly completed work, their ability to be successful on the ACT/SAT will be questionable without the proper completion of practice work, and that another session without work will result in the cancellation of all remaining sessions.  In the event a student arrives to a third session without any completed practice or with carelessly/poorly completed practice, Teacher will notify Parent/Guardian to let them know that the Student has been removed from the roster and no further sessions will occur.

TEST SCORES

Teacher does not provide any guarantees of any kind for exact scores and does not provide any guarantees of any kind for score increases, nor does Teacher assume any type of responsibility for Student scores.  Too many variables are present on any test day that could affect Student scores.
